Outline plans have been submitted for the construction of up to 110 new homes on 14.2 acres of land known as Lollesworth Fields, off Ockham Road North in East Horsley.
The land under the control of Catesby Estates plc lies within the administrative area of Guildford Borough Council. The draft Guildford Local Plan currently being Examined by the Planning Inspectorate identifies the site as suitable for release from the green belt and proposes the site is allocated for new homes.
The outline planning application includes 40% affordable housing, office accommodation and new public open space.
Dawn Adams, Planning Manager for Catesby Estates said “We have worked closely with both East Horsley Parish Council and Guildford Borough Council to bring forward this well located and sustainable housing site.”
“During our public consultation with local residents, protection of the woodland and the amount of open space were key issues raised. In response public open space now totals 50% of the site with the introduction of a central green corridor through the site, and the buffer to the ancient woodland has been increased from 15m to 30m.”
The application will undergo a statutory consultation period, where anyone who wishes to make their views known on the development can submit their comments to Guildford Borough Council, before it goes before the planning committee later this year.
Should the application be approved, housebuilders could be onsite mid-2020, with first residents taking occupation in 2021.
