Catesby Estates are pleased to announce the sale of residential development site Folly Hill in Farnham to CALA Homes.
The refusal by Waverley Borough Council to grant planning permission for a detailed application for 96 new homes on the 14 acre site with children’s play area and Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANGS) was over overturned at appeal in December 2018.
Inspector Philip J Asquith agreed with Catesby Estates’ evidence that there was a “significant shortfall” in Waverley’s delivery of housing against government targets, and that the scheme would not result in such a level of landscape harm to the character and appearance of the area that would outweigh the benefits of the proposal.
Myron Osborne, Land & Development Director at Catesby Estates said; "We are delighted to have completed this sale to CALA Homes. This development will provide much needed affordable housing and will give local people looking for a new home in the area the chance to take their first steps on the housing ladder. First residents are expected to take occupation 2020.”
