Scout Group Learns More About Local History

As part of our commitment to community engagement we were pleased to welcome 1st Wetherden and Haughley Scouts to our site in Haughley, Suffolk.

Mid Suffolk District Council unanimously voted to grant outline planning permission for 65 new homes on the 11.6 acre site, west of Fishponds Way earlier this year.

The group were interested in the archaeological investigation being undertaken as part of a condition of the consent granted.

The scouts spent time with Pre-Construct Archaeology who are undertaking the archaeological investigation on our behalf.

Katie Yates, Marketing and Communications Manager said, “We are always keen to get involved with the local community, and we believe the key to our success is our ‘working together’ philosophy.  We hold many community events, and we were pleased to be able to provide this local group with an insight into what we do and the history of the site.”
