Catesby Estates have been selected as land promoter for an 18 acre greenfield site south of the B480 in Chalgrove, South Oxfordshire.
The land is situated immediately adjacent to the Chalgrove Airfield redevelopment (www.chalgroveairfield.com) being overseen by Homes England, which will deliver 3,000 homes, employment space, retail, education, healthcare, community facilities combined with significant new public transport and walking / cycling improvements.
These will include 4 new buses per hour to Oxford and 2 buses per hour to Didcot, as well as the creation of new walking and cycling routes to Chalgrove and beyond. The land we are promoting is therefore extremely well located to ultilise and further support the new sustainable transport connections which will be delivered as part of the redevelopment of the airfield.
The Ridgepoint Homes site adjoining to the south (which is an allocation in the Chalgrove Neighbourhood Plan) is currently under construction and will deliver 200 new homes.
We will be promoting the land under control for future development via the emerging Local Plan 2041 being prepared jointly by South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse Councils.
David Harper, Area Land Director for Catesby Estates said; “We will be working closely with South Oxfordshire District Council and other local stakeholders to bring this site forward to deliver a sensitively designed and sustainable residential development.”
