Working with the next generation

Catesby Estates and our parent company Urban&Civic, welcomed Real Estate, Rural Property Management and Environmental Land Management students from Harper Adams University to Houlton.

Learning opportunities around land promotion and master development

Catesby has been working with the University for a number of years delivering talks, Q&A sessions and sponsoring student awards.

The visiting students are all in the final year of their Degrees and the presentations and tour formed part of their wider learning.

Development in practice

Hosted by Katie Yates from Catesby and Johanne Thomas U&C, the students listened to presentations covering the differences between the two businesses, the land promotion model and planning environment and also the history of Houlton, its evolution to where it is today and some of the great work that’s being delivered in terms of public open spaces, schools, community and sustainability.

The day was finished off by a tour of the site including a visit to the multi-award-winning Houlton Secondary School which was previously the historic Rugby International Radio Station.
