A bit of joined up working this week with our Urban&Civic colleagues when we welcomed students from Harper Adams University to Houlton.
Catesby has been working with the University for a number of years delivering talks, Q&A sessions and sponsoring student awards.
The visiting students are all in the final year of their Real Estate and Rural Property Management Degrees and currently studying the planning, property development and management models.
Hosted by Katie Yates and Ed Barrett from Catesby, and Johanne Thomas and Adam Sayer from U&C, the students listened to presentations covering the differences between the two businesses, the land promotion model and planning environment and also the history of Houlton, its evolution to where it is today and some of the great work that’s being delivered in terms of public open spaces, schools, community and sustainability.
There was time for plenty of questions, a bit of lunch and the day was finished off by a tour of the site including a visit to the multi-award-winning Houlton Secondary School which was previously the historic Rugby International Radio Station.
