Anyone who has been involved in public consultation for potential future development will know just how challenging and daunting a public exhibition can be.
As part of our continued commitment to learning and development the Catesby team took part last week in conflict training.
Delivered by Interactive Workshops, the full day session was highly engaging and was aimed at providing the team with the skills needed to successfully navigate moments of conflict.
The session covered everything from fielding difficult questions under pressure, to de-escalation techniques and managing a room with many personalities present.
The day involved lots of discussion, breakout groups, sticky notes and the best bit, the sessions with the actors!
The actors certainly didn’t hold back, as the team took turns dealing with a variety of different characters and scenarios which felt uncannily realistic.
It was a great opportunity for us as a team to broaden our skill set and help prepare for future public consultations.
